The Sidwell Company, a St. Charles, Illinois-based provider of geographic information systems, aerial photography and mapping services, is pleased to announce the promotion of Thomas Ricker to Director of Project Management.
Tom has served as a GIS Project Manager for Sidwell since 1999. Tom’s responsibilities have included project implementation, client support, and training on all aspects of GIS. He has also specialized in implementation, training, and support for Sidwell’s FARMS (Farmland Assessment and Report Management System) software. Sidwell’s President Neal Carpenter says, “Tom brings tremendous project management experience and technical expertise to this position. More importantly, he understands the importance of developing close, trusting, and collaborative professional relationships with clients, and models that approach for our staff. His years as a project manager at Sidwell and his work as a GIS manager in the public sector have prepared him well for his new responsibilities. I am confident that Tom will be an effective leader of his department and member of Sidwell’s management team.”
Prior to joining Sidwell, Tom was the GIS Coordinator for the Village of Frankfort, Illinois, for eight years. His responsibilities included implementing, maintaining, and supervising special GIS projects. Tom also served as their network administrator, provided training, and managed software development for all departments within the municipality.
