St. Charles, IL —The Sidwell Company, an employee-owned, St. Charles, Illinois-based provider of geographic information systems, aerial photography, photogrammetric and mapping services, has been selected to provide professional GIS services for Douglas County, Illinois; Whiteside County, Illinois; and Hancock County, Iowa.
For Douglas County, Sidwell will convert the county’s existing MicroStation cadastral maps (originally created by Sidwell) into the widely implemented tagged data model as an ESRI ArcGIS® 9.2 Geodatabase. This will entail the cleanup of seam lines and edge matching between map tiles, the import of the parcel number inventory into Parcel Builder-Administrator™, and creation of grid indexes to support a plotting solution for the county. Also included in this project is Sidwell’s industry-acclaimed ArcGIS®-compliant mapping productivity toolkit, Parcel Builder™, with accompanying training and support.
Whiteside County has selected Sidwell to provide professional GIS services, including data migration and the in-site implementation of Sidwell’s Parcel Builder software. Specifically, Sidwell will migrate the County’s existing data from a polygon-based editing platform to ESRI’s Geodatabase format, and provide the necessary training and support services for their ongoing GIS maintenance to be performed using the extensive set of mapping productivity tools included in Parcel Builder.
Sidwell was also chosen by Hancock County, Iowa to provide the County with professional GIS services. These services will include design of a cadastral conversion workflow to take the County’s existing GIS data (created by another vendor) over to the tagged data model and an ArcGIS 9.2 Geodatabase. Also included in this project are Sidwell’s ArcGIS®-compliant mapping productivity toolkit, Parcel Builder™, and implementation of their Farmland Assessment and Report Management System™, with accompanying training and support.
