St. Charles, IL —The Sidwell Company, an employee-owned, St. Charles, Illinois-based provider of geographic information systems (GIS), aerial photography, photogrammetric and mapping services, has been selected by Boone County, Illinois, and the City of St. Charles, Illinois to provide enhanced web services for each jurisdiction.
Boone County selected Sidwell to provide enhancements to the website that was set up as part of the County’s original GIS project. The scope of this work includes front-end design and setup of two, distinct websites: a public site (including 20 additional map layers) that will query based on parcel number; and an employee website (including 10 additional map layers) that implements a login and security scheme. Sidwell is also working with the County to develop a web update system, in addition to a mechanism that will allow both County and City (of Belvidere) staff to add event locations based on map coordinates and include city-defined hotlinks to other websites.
The City of St. Charles, Illinois has contracted with Sidwell to provide the professional services required to enhance their existing Precision GIS intranet website. The goal of this project is to develop the usability enhancements and functionality requested by a beta group of approximately 25 users. These changes will focus specifically on the areas of search capabilities, data reporting capabilities, and overall visual aesthetics.
