St. Charles, IL – Robertson County Appraisal District (RCAD), located in east-central Texas, has selected The Sidwell Company of St. Charles, Illinois, to convert the appraisal district’s cadastral-based GIS data to an ESRI ArcGIS® Geodatabase platform and to provide an ESRI-based software solution for maintaining the GIS. Sidwell-an employee-owned provider of geographic information systems, aerial photography, cadastral mapping and website provision services-will convert RCAD’s current cadastral data into a personal Geodatabase that utilizes the cadastral tag data model. In addition, the company will perform design file data scrubbing services, conflation of coincident boundary lines and geospatial referencing of the mapping data to the RCAD’s orthophotography. The district’s parcel number inventory will also be imported into Parcel Builder-AdministratorTM, which will enable RCAD to link parcel numbers directly to the GIS, thereby making them available for future integration with tax and CAMA applications and for enhanced workflows.
Along with data conversion, Sidwell will develop and maintain two websites for RCAD: one that emulates the front-page functionality of the district’s current website; and a second that provides public access to a defined subset of their map, tabular, and orthophotographic data. RCAD will also receive Sidwell’s non-proprietary Parcel Builder Version 3.3 integrated software suite for maintaining the converted data, as well as several hours of customized training on how to maximize use of this powerful mapping productivity toolkit.
