St. Charles, Illinois–With their close proximity to a major metropolitan area, the city of Houston, Montgomery Central Appraisal District has been one of the fastest growing areas of the country in the past three years. Faced with the challenge of managing and maintaining a complex set of parcel land records that went along with this growth, MCAD knew they needed to find a technology solution that would allow them to enhance and streamline their workflow process. As an early adopter of GIS technology from ESRI®, MCAD also knew that their chosen solution would need to be based on the most current ESRI technology. With their long track record of carefully researching the options available to them as they continued development of their enterprise GIS system, MCAD knew they found the right partner for their project in The Sidwell Company.
Based on Sidwell’s proven experience in land records management and ESRI technology, Montgomery CAD selected The Sidwell Company to convert their cadastral-based GIS data to an ESRI ArcGIS® Geodatabase platform and to provide an ESRI-based software solution for maintaining the cadastral GIS. Sidwell will convert Montgomery CAD’s current cadastral data into an enterprise Geodatabase that utilizes the cadastral tag data model. MCAD will also receive Sidwell’s Parcel Builder™ integrated software suite for maintaining the converted data, as well as several hours of customized training on how to maximize use of this cadastral mapping productivity toolkit. Parcel Builder, an extension to ESRI’s ArcGIS 9.3, is the premier solution to support the process of parcel mapping and land records management.
To support the management of the converted geodatabase, MCAD will also take advantage of ArcGIS Server technology from ESRI. Sidwell staff will install and configure ArcGIS Server, and will provide training to MCAD on administration, security configurations, as well as a versioning model that will most effectively meet the needs of MCAD for the management of their enterprise geodatabase. The means to efficiently maintain and deploy their rapidly changing GIS dataset throughout their enterprise is the benefit that MCAD will realize from Sidwell’s professional services.
